WHO WE ARE

Michael Scholtz and Greg Hottinger became friends while working together at the Duke University Diet and Fitness Center in the 1990s. While helping clients lose weight was the top day-to-day priority, it was the month-to-month that concerned Michael and Greg, since most dieters slip back into their old weight gaining habits. They set out to answer the question: What enables a person to lose weight AND keep it off?

NOVO Wellness (from the Latin word novo meaning “to begin anew”) was established in 2001 to help individuals make true lifestyle changes by overcoming the personal obstacles that have held them back from success and developing new patterns of healthy living. Michael and Greg initially began teaching classes, developing programs, and coaching individuals on a one-on-one basis.

Seven years later, NOVO Wellness has grown to be a leader in the development of effective weight loss tools, including The Evolution Coaching Method, a model for coaching lifestyle change and Healthy Start, a coached weight loss program. In addition, Michael and Greg work as experts on several websites and have developed an interactive method that enables members to routinely overcome their obstacles and reach their goals.
